I find it hard to begin by introducing Gem’s Little Bookshelf. If you don’t know me, I’m Gemma, a content writer, content creator, and social media guru. In early 2022, I was clearing out my bookshelf to make room for my newly received Christmas presents (yes, more books) when I was struck by how disorganized and in need of attention it had become.

We’d moved twice in six years, and books got packed away and left in boxes in our loft (I know, I cry just thinking about it), but I found some treasures and old favourites that are long since forgotten and, worse still, books I have never read! Brand new, never even reading more than the back cover; this was not okay! So, I cleaned the shelves, gave them all good dust, and attempted to organize them in color order (The Home Edit style). Unfortunately, it became apparent that most of my book spines were indeed monochrome, so alphabetical order had to be done.
What Can Gem’s Little Bookshelf Offer You?
Contemplating starting a new blog is scary. So when I was sitting in my bedroom one-day thinking, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to start a new book blog?’ I shivered at the thought of what my book blog could offer and wrote a list— a simple list! Gem’s Little Bookshelf will (for now) stick to the basics.
